I have served the people of Cambridge as the Ward 3 Councillor since my
election in 2000. Over the years I feel I have developed a well rounded
background of knowledge and experience in many areas. Currently I am serving as
the Chair of Cambridge City Council General Committee.
Since 2000 I have worked with many diverse organizations and committees.
Some of the appointments I've held as a Cambridge City Council representative
are the following:
- The Cambridge Official City Plan Committee
- The Cambridge Arts and Culture Advisory Committee
- The Cambridge Economic Development Committee
- The Cambridge Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee
- The Cambridge Tourism Committee
- The Cambridge Human Services Advisory Committee
- The Cambridge Grants to Groups Committee
- The Cambridge Striking Committee of Council
- The Mayors Night at The Movies Committee
- The Mayors Celebration of The Arts Organizing Committee
- The Cambridge Non-Profit Housing Corporation - Current Director
I also proposed and helped establish the Cambridge Recognition for Cultural
Achievement Award.
I have served the City of Cambridge on several Regional Transportation Road
Studies Committees and on the Regional Transportation Master Plan Committee.
During my time on Council, Seniors issues and concerns have been very
important to me. For the last 10 years I have served as the Cambridge City
Council representative on all Seniors related committees and events.
In my personal life I have made many friends and enjoyed working alongside
many other wonderful volunteers in Cambridge. Below is a list of the

The Whetham Family has lived in the Cambridge area since the 1820ś.
For the past 40 years, my husband Glen and I have owned and operated G.A.
Whetham Plumbing & Heating as well as a number of other small businesses. I
have experienced first hand the challenges and rewards of owning and operating
your own business. We have 6 children and 5 Grandchildren.
